 ACT School Day

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to inform you about the School Day ACT for the 2024-2025 school year, which will be administered on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Important Notes:

  • This College Reportable ACT is only for JUNIORS enrolled at Ponte Vedra High School.
  • The ACT is a standardized college entrance exam that assesses students’ readiness in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science.
  • The School Day ACT provides a valuable opportunity for your child to experience the testing environment and gain familiarity with the test format.

Testing Details for Juniors (Grades 11):

  • When: Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from approximately 9:20 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • There will be no late admittance to the testing rooms. Students who arrive after 9:20 AM will attend a study hall in the auditorium.
  • Where: Students will test in their assigned locations. Rosters and classroom assignments will be posted around the school and on the PVHS website under Testing Information the week before the test.
  • What to Bring:
  • School-issued ID or driver’s license 
  • Two sharpened No. 2 pencils

  • Snacks and water bottle

Early Leave Option for Juniors (Grades 11):

  • Students have the option to leave after the test is over (around 1:30 PM) by completing the Microsoft Form linked below.
  • Students will not be permitted to leave if they do not have this pass.
  • Students without permission to leave will attend lunch, and then a “courtyard hour” until regular dismissal at 3:50 pm.

9th, 10th & 12th Grade (Grades 9, 10, 12) Information:

  • This ACT is available for only juniors on February 25, 2025.
  • St. Johns County School District has elected to provide all other students (Grades 9, 10, 12) with a flexible learning day conducted virtually through Schoology. Teachers will communicate expectations online that day.
  • Students who report to school that day will be held in the auditorium for a study hall and will be provided lunch once all testing has concluded.

Important Reminders:

  • Ensure your child gets adequate rest and eats a healthy breakfast on the day of the test.
  • Encourage your child to arrive at school on time (before 9:20 AM) for the ACT.
  • Review the ACT test-taking strategies and familiarize yourself with the test format.

*With parent/guardian permission, STUDENTS MAY LEAVE AFTER THE TEST CONCLUDES USING THIS MICROSOFT FORM: (link coming in January 2025)

Note: NO REGISTRATION IS NEEDED – Students are automatically registered by the school district if they are enrolled as an 11th grade student! This is all done by the state, and your child simply needs to show up with photo ID.

ACT Testing Accommodations Guidelines:

11th grade students wishing to take the school day ACT on 2/25/25 (paid for by the state) and are requesting accommodations should do so before December 5, 2024.

To request Accommodations for ACT, please fill out the “Consent to Release” form below and return the form to your student’s school counselor.  Please keep in mind that the application and approval process can take up to 7 weeks and is NOT guaranteed.  If you are interested in applying for College Board or ACT accommodations, please fill out the attached requests and return it to your school counselor.

Please be advised the test fee varies:

  • Accommodations: For questions related to accommodations please contact [email protected] or call (904) 547–7378.
  • Parental consent is required, allowing the testing coordinator to release documentation related to the existence of the student’s disability and the need for accommodations. Please print and sign the attached document and return to Sarah Halter. TAA-Consent-to-Release-Information-to-ACT
  • Please allow adequate time, before your chosen test date, for the request to be processed by ACT.

Please arrive fully prepared with calculator, pencil, ID and test ticket. You will not be allowed to enter without these items. We do not provide calculators but all questions can be answered without one should you forget. There is a strict no cell phone/smart watch policy. Please leave these in your car before you arrive on campus.

Act Non College Reportable (NCR)

The ACT Non College Reportable (NCR) will be held on  spring TBD This test is for juniors and seniors who have not yet met the FSA10 and/or Algebra 1 EOC graduation requirement(s).  Students will receive a message via Schoology if they are signed up to participate.
