Algebra I EOC
Parents of Students who were in Algebra 1 during the 2019-2020 school year
On March 17, 2020, the Florida Department of Education and Commissioner Richard Corcoran issued an executive order to support the Florida Division of Emergency Management to ensure the safety of Florida citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic. A component of that order canceled all remaining K-12 assessments for the 2019-2020 school year, including the Algebra 1 EOC.
In St. Johns County, students who were enrolled in Algebra 1/Algebra 1 Honors during the 2019-2020 school year and take the FSA Algebra 1 EOC during the Summer 2020 or Fall 2020 administration will be offered the opportunity to use the FSA A1 EOC score as 30% of their final grade. If a student is satisfied with their grade, there is no action needed. If they are looking to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their grade, they should speak with their guidance counselor no later than September 11, 2020 to be enrolled for the Fall Administration.
Students who took Algebra 1 during the 2019-2020 school year will also receive information through their math teacher concerning the options available to meet the mathematics assessment graduation requirement prior to their graduation. Please review this information with your student and return it to their math teacher by Friday, September 11, 2020. Reach out to your student’s guidance counselor or Marisa Leonard, Testing Coordinator, if you have questions concerning these options.
