The PSAT-NMSQT will be administered next week on Wednesday, October 14th to all 10th grade students and to 9th and 11th  grade students who paid to participate.

Students will test in their homerooms.    Signs will be posted around campus to help students locate their homeroom.   All students will need to know their complete home address including zip code, an email address and/or mobile number if they would like early electronic notification of their results, number 2 pencils and an approved calculator (scientific or graphing).  We also recommend bringing snacks and water as lunch will be later this day.   It may be helpful to write this information on an index card and bring it to testing.

Students with College Board approved accommodations are reminded that they should be in their assigned rooms by 8:00 a.m. to begin testing.   Students with these accommodations have been notified.

Parents, students cannot be released from testing rooms until all testing materials on campus have been picked up and secured.  Please plan accordingly if your student will need to leave early.    Distance learners will also test on campus in their assigned homerooms.  College Board does not offer an opportunity to test from home.

Testing will be complete at approximately 1:25 p.m. and students will be released to lunch at that time.  Buses will pick up at 2:00 p.m. this day as it is the first day of the revised Wednesday dismissal time.   Distance learners will be allowed to have lunch and ride the bus home or may be picked up immediately after testing in the parent pick-up line.  All students are required to wear a mask on the Bus, during arrival, dismissal and in all common areas.

9th and 11th grade students who have not paid to participate in the PSAT-NMSQT and seniors are eligible to use this day as a distance learning opportunity.  (*see information below sent out by PVHS on 10/1/2020)    Students who arrive late and those who choose not to use the day for distance learning will attend a study hall in the auditorium.

The PSAT exam is an important upcoming assessment for high school students on Wednesday, October 14.  As a reminder, the PSAT is for ALL 10th grade students as well as 9th or 11th grade students who have paid to take the exam.

Due to COVID-19, the number of students we can place in our large group spaces is significantly reduced.  This makes it difficult to provide a learning space for students who are not participating in the PSAT.  To ensure both student safety and the optimal testing environment, we will allow flexibility to students on this day.  High school students who are not participating in the PSAT may complete assigned work from home or at school on this day.   Assigned work will be due on Thursday, October 15.

Please also note that October 14 is our first day of the revised time for Wednesday dismissal.  Students will be dismissed at 2:00 pm on Wednesdays from October 14 – December 18, 2020.

The PSAT-NMSQT will be administered at Ponte Vedra High School on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.   The purpose of the PSAT is to give all students an opportunity to experience taking a college readiness test and to identify students who might benefit from advanced coursework.  All 9th – 11th grade students received an Official Student Guide to the PSAT/ NMSQT® through their English classes this week.  This guide contains valuable information as well as a full-length practice test with answer key.  See the College Board website for additional information:

  • 10th grade students are paid for by the State of Florida and will receive a score report.
  • 9th and 11th grade students must sign up and pay through their SchoolPay account by Monday, September 14th, 2020 in order to participate. The cost is $21. SchoolPay:
  • Seniors AND 9th/11th grade students who have not paid will attend a study hall.

Distance Learners who opt to participate will test with their assigned homeroom.   A list of homeroom assignments will be sent out on Schoology closer to date and will be posted around campus on the morning of the PSAT.  College Board does not offer an option to take the PSAT-NMSQT remotely.

The PSAT-NMSQT is the qualifier for the National Merit Scholar designation for 11th grade students.

Full time FLVS/SJVS Students, Home School and Hospital Homebound students that are zoned for Ponte Vedra High School should email Marisa Leonard for registration instructions if they would like to participate.

Please note, PVHS does not offer a make-up session or alternate date and there are no refunds available.
