You can take this class all the way up to an AP course!
CERAMICS AND POTTERY
The PV Ceramics and Pottery classes enable students to recognize the properties, possibilities, and limitations of clay by creating functional and nonfunctional ceramics using hand-building and wheel techniques. The focus is to increase the technical proficiency and sensitivity in the design process and to translate personal expression and aesthetic values into an art form. The students also explore the unlimited possibilities of glazes and mixed media.

Each year, the Ponte Vedra High School band students perform across the state in concerts, music festivals, and prestigious competitions. They consistently earn top ratings at their annual music performance assessments and have received distinguished awards, including best music and visual at state championships.
Our programs have been multi-time finalists at state and local competitions, earning state runner-up titles in marching band, indoor percussion, and winter guard.
Beyond musical performance, our students also excel academically. Ninety-nine percent of the band students are enrolled in AP, honors, or dual enrollment courses. They are leaders on campus, actively serve in clubs and organizations, earn STAR and Character Counts awards, and participate in various honor societies.
Through a dedication to helping students become cultural citizens, leaders, and lifelong lovers of music, the Ponte Vedra High School band program strives to inspire its students to become better musicians and people every day.

PVHS DRAMA
Teacher: Jason Nettle
Since 2016, Jason Nettle, MFA, has led the Ponte Vedra High School Drama program. Placing students into theatre programs across the country, he has supported his students’ dreams of having careers in theatre.
The Mission
To teach empathy, responsibility, work ethic, time management, following through with projects to the best of your ability, respect, communication, dealing with rejection and failure, focusing your successes, overcoming fears, and becoming an overall better human being ALL THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF THEATER
Elevating academic learning to include the importance of mental health, self-care, mindfulness, emotional regulation, self-esteem, personal finances, reframing negative thoughts, and the importance of sleep.
DRAMA CLUB
One of the largest clubs on campus for a reason.
Giving students the tools to succeed for the long term, not just for one show. This incorporates “real life” variables such as the need for hard work, navigating unfair treatment and rejection, how to read other people, and trusting yourself.
Each year, we put on three main stage shows, showcase rising stars, attend district competitions, attend the Thespian festival, meet monthly, apply learnings in technical theatre, learn the responsibilities of being part of a team with a higher purpose, and make lifelong friends.
TECH CLUB
Students who focus on all aspects of running a show, including building sets, running lights, sound engineering, makeup, props, running crew, and strike.
