Youth Leadership St. Johns

January 16, 2024

Youth Leadership St. Johns (YLSJ) is a community-led youth leadership development program of UF Health St. Johns (formerly Flagler Health +/Flagler Hospital). This competitive program, which is offered in many communities throughout the country, is well-regarded by colleges/universities when making admission decisions, so we urge you to give it serious consideration.

The program is held monthly during the student’s junior year from Sept. 2024 – April, 2025. The program will share techniques for becoming an effective leader. It will also include monthly visits to various businesses in our county to teach the participants about how communities work and where they may wish to lend their skills in the future as an employee or volunteer. Each month’s program will have a different focus such as Law & Government, Business, Arts and Leisure, Social Services, Education and Healthcare. Twenty-two sophomore students will be selected county-wide this spring for this program. The program will be held during the junior year.

If this type of program is of interest to you, please read the YLSJ 2024-2025 Information document (download here) for details about the application and program details.
