Episcopal Girls Tennis Beats the Sharks 4-3.

The Ponte Vedra girls tennis team lost a close match to The Episcopal School by a score of 4-3.  Mareen McCormack led the team with wins at 1 Singles and, with partner Alyssa Hensley, at 1 Doubles.  Mareen improves to 9-0 at both positions.  Ellie Stamatogiannakis rallied to score the third win for Ponte Vedra.  The Sharks will meet Nease in the Shark tank on April 3rd.

Girls Tennis Improves Record to 8-1 with wins over Bolles and Bishop Kenny

The Sharks posted two wins, first defeating District 4 foe Bolles 6-1 and then Bishop Kenny 7-0.  Maureen McCormack remains undefeated at line one singles and also anchors the undefeated one doubles team with Alyssa Hensly.  The boys and girls teams will host Nease on the Shark Tank Courts in a rescheduled match on Monday, March 19th

Girls Tennis Improves Team Record to 6-1

The Sharks advanced their team record to 6-1 with a 7-0 win over Fernandina Beach.  Mareen McCormack and Claire Olson led the team with solid victories at 1 and 2 singles.  Claire did not lose a game.  Katya Kelly, Ellie Stamatogiannaksis and Mary Mesereau all posted decisive wins to complete the singles line up.  Emma Notari and Anna Handly showed great team work with a win at 2 doubles.  The Sharks host Bolles on Thursday, March 8th on the PVHS courts.

Ponte Vedra Travels to Tallahassee To Earn Victories.

The Sharks girls varsity tennis team improved their record to 5-0 with wins over Tallahassee Maclay and Leon.  Without dropping a set, the team had wins at all positions.  Mary Maesereau scored her first win of the season with a victory against Leon’s Katie Garland on line 5.

Ponte Vedra defeats Bartram Trail 7-0.

The PVHS girls team traveled to Bartram Trail on Thursday, Feb 15 and earned their second victory of the season with a 7-0 sweep of the Bears.  Winning in straight sets were Maureen McCormack, Claire Olson, Katya Kelly and Ellie Stamatogiannakis.  Alyssa Hensley split sets, but finished the match off with a 10-1 score in a ten point tie breaker.  The doubles teams of Hensley/McCormack and Olson/ Stamatogiannakis both score wins with super set scores of 8-2.  The team faces Fleming Island on Wednesday and then travels to Tallahassee on Friday for two matches .
