Florida Virtual School Testing
The process for scheduling a FLVS test at PVHS is as follows:
*When you are ready to take a midterm or final, contact your FLVS teacher.
*FLVS teacher will then submit a ticket to FLVS along with a password for testing
*FLVS then sends that password to PVHS; it takes approximately five business days for this process to occur
*Once you have heard from your FLVS teacher that this has been done, contact Mrs. Hrach to schedule your test at PVHS. She can be reached at hrachd@stjohns.k12.fl.us  or  904-547-7378. You can also stop by her office in the administration section of the school.

A number of highly selective colleges and universities require students to show proficiency in certain subject areas for either admission or placement. The SAT II Subject Tests are designed to measure knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge in specific subject areas. Students should check with their perspective colleges to find out specific test requirements.

The PSAT-NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test - National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a practice test for the SAT. If a student knows he/she will need the SAT as part of admissions requirements, taking the PSAT is an excellent idea. The PSAT-MNSQT is also used for qualifying scholarship competitions for juniors.  All 10th grade students take the PSAT for free, it is paid for by the state. We also expect all 9th and 11th grade students to take the PSAT. There is a $15.00 fee for 9th and 11th grade students who would like a copy of their PSAT scores.

Ponte Vedra High School will be administering the PSAT on Wednesday, October 17, 2012  in the student's homeroom.

For more information about the PSAT, please visit the College Board website.

The PLAN is a predictor of success on the ACT. It is taken the 10th grade year and is used to give students an early start on planning and preparing for the future. The assessment focuses on four key areas: writing skills, math, reading and science reasoning. The test results provide information on where the student currently is performing in relation to academic skills and abilities in the four areas tested.

For more information about the PLAN, please visit the ACT website.

AP (Advanced Placement) classes give students the opportunity to simultaneously earn college and high school credit. Hundreds of institutions grant credit for advanced standing for qualifying grades of three or more on Advanced Placement examinations. AP exams are administered at Ponte Vedra HS in conjunction with AP classes offered. The exams are three hours in length and consist of both essay and objective type questions. Students should check the AP policy of their prospective institution.
